How to read your forecast
A forecast is a probability, not a promise. The chance of rain shown on our hourly and daily cards represents the likelihood that measurable precipitation will fall in your area during that period. A 40% chance means that, given similar weather patterns, rain occurred in that region about 4 out of 10 times.
Feels like temperature — sometimes called apparent temperature — factors in wind chill in cold weather and humidity in warm weather. Two days with the same air temperature can feel very different depending on wind speed, moisture in the air, and whether the sun is out.
The UV index scales from 0 (minimal risk) to 11+ (extreme). Any reading of 6 or higher warrants sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses for extended time outdoors — especially between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
